Delete Your Account

Option 1 — Delete in-app (recommended, instant)

1. Open Wordy Bunch on your device.
2. From the Home screen, open Settings. In the classic layout this is the ⚙️ Settings tile in the compact row with Shop and Leaders; in the editorial layout it appears as SETTINGS / prefs.
3. Scroll down to the DATA & PRIVACY card.
4. Tap 🗑 Delete my data.
5. Confirm both prompts: first Delete, then Delete forever. The app removes your server-side profile, signs you out, clears local storage, and restarts into a fresh anonymous state.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you've uninstalled the app or can't access it, email [email protected] with the subject line "Delete my Wordy Bunch account".

Because profiles are fully anonymous, please include one of the following so we can identify the correct record:

• Your 6-character friend code (Settings → Profile, before you delete).
• The email address you used to Sign in with Apple, Google, or email-link (if you linked one).
• Your in-app display name plus the approximate date you started playing — we may ask follow-up questions to confirm it's you.

We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your anonymous identifier on our Supabase backend, including:

• Profile — display name, avatar emoji + colour, region, friend code, linked email (if any).
• Friends & invites — your friend list, pending friend requests, and any outstanding multiplayer game invites.
• Game stats & ratings — best score, total games played, daily streak, skill ratings per region, campaign progress and stars.
• Presence — last-seen timestamp and any active multiplayer room you've joined.
• Notification token — your device's push token, so we can no longer send you friend invite notifications.
• Word reports & suggestions — anything you flagged via "⚑ Report" or submitted through Settings → Word List → Suggest a missing word.

What's kept (and why)

• Anonymous interaction counts — single-row event counts (e.g. "demo round started") that have no identifier of any kind attached. These cannot be linked back to you and so cannot be deleted on request.
• Aggregate gameplay summaries — once aggregated into anonymised summary tables for design analysis, individual rows are no longer attributable to a specific player and cannot be selectively removed. Your identifiable gameplay rows are deleted with your profile.
• Crash logs — sent to Sentry without any account identifier; they are automatically purged by Sentry after 90 days.
• Purchase records — any in-app purchase receipts held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat are retained by those providers under their own retention policies; we do not control them, and they are required by tax and consumer-protection law.
• Launch-notification list (if you signed up on the website) — managed separately from your in-app profile. To remove yourself, email [email protected].

Retention timeline

Identifiable data above is removed within 30 days of an in-app deletion or an email request. In-app deletion is effectively instant — the 30-day window only applies to short-lived database backups, which are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
